Slip and Fall

Slip and Fall Representation at Garber Law

Experienced Attorney for Clients in New Jersey and Pennsylvania

Thousands of people are injured each year as a result of slip and fall accidents. A customer may slip and fall on a wet floor or tumble down an unmarked flight of stairs or slip on a patch of black ice on a sidewalk. Many of these injuries are severe and may be due to the negligence of the property owner.

Property owners are required to keep up their property and to reasonably protect the people on it from bodily harm. If there is an accident due to a spill, worn or torn spot or other dangerous surface on the property that the owner has failed to remove or repair, the owner may be liable for the injuries caused in the accident.

At Garber Law, we represent victims of slip and fall cases in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Our firm knows that the extent of the injuries caused by slip and fall accidents can cause severe pain and suffering, and can lead to expensive medical bills and time away from work. We will help you hold the property owner accountable for your injuries and will give you the representation that you deserve.

What is Reasonable?

In slip and fall, trip and fall and other premises liability cases, the law tries to determine what is "reasonable" to expect a property owner to do in order to keep the property safe. While some examples of "reasonable" actions may seem like common sense, in some cases it can be difficult to prove that a property owner should have taken better care of the property.

  • Was there a problem with a floor or surface that the property owner knew about, but did not fix?
  • Is the property regularly cleaned and maintained?
  • If you slipped on an object on the floor or ground, was there a reason for that object to be there?
  • Should a simple barrier or sign have been used to prevent people from slipping?
  • Is there adequate lighting on the premises?

At Garber Law, lawyer Joel W. Garber will help you answer these questions and figure out if you have a good claim for compensation. Our firm will present you with your options and your chances of success, and we will determine if we should move forward with your case.
